I love all the small items people post from thier digs.
Digging early sites the bottles often tend to be in many tiny peices (and plain black glass non-descript to boot).
I figured I'd post a few of the small knick knacks I have dug up.
If there is any interest I'll post some more.

Something different to look at anyway.

First is I beleive a trigger guard for a brown bess musket. This was the workhorse rifle of the revolution.

A cufflink. They seemed to be pretty popular.
Also a Carlos III coin. To make change in the 18th century I think you had to carry around a cold chisle.
Too bad it wasnt whole , Carlos had such a beatiful profile.

Not sure what this is. Seems to be maybe a watch fob or some other decorative bit.
Has a figure with wig and triangular hat typical of the time.

Georgian shoe buckle fragment. These got pretty fancy. This one had paste diamonds.

Nice old items!

What was the (original) denomination of that Carolus III coin? 2 Reales? They certainly took the phrase "Make Change" to heart back then I suppose! Kinda cool, really. Too bad we can't cut dollar bills in half and use them as 50 cent bills. That would be fun.

Its a little bigger than a quarter so I guess its 2 reales. The text on the back for denomination is on the missing side. A 2 reales coins would be marked 2R.

I found quiote a few large pennies cut in eigths also. Talk about penny pinching.

I wish I could say that via experience, but you seem to have cornered the market on all that material! [8D]

I seem to be able to connect better to the 1830-1900 material, personally, but I suppose it has a great deal to do with what I am able to access.
