I just found this listing on Ebay and thought the ACL collectors here would want to take a look. It could start an interesting debate as to whether that is way out of the ballpark or a fair price. The pictures and display don't allow very many of the 600 bottles to be seen and what I can see is a lot of commons. Definately some rarer ones here and there but not too much that I can see. Who knows, there could be a Big Hit or a Mtn Dew Party Jug hiding in there that would make this a great deal. Realistically it does average out to $5 a bottle so it seems like a fair deal if you happen to have $3000 laying around. I'm curious what others here think.

I was surprised to see so many Maine bottles but they were all $5 bottles.

This would be an amazing lot to Cherry pick at $5 a bottle but not if you had to buy them all.

It wouldn't be worthwhile for me because it would cost too much to get them to Texas. If someone local wanted to buy the collection and sell them individually on ebay they might be able to average $10 per bottle and double their money. It would take about 40-50 hours to photograph and list them individually and then another 50-60 hours to pack and ship. And they wouldn't all sell. Probably too much risk for the possible return.

$14.59 shipping is what the invoice will come as, that's not bad. I wonder if you can hold them to that?[:D]

I'm tempted to make him an offer since I'm out of work, not my area of expertise to say the least though.....

Very interesting collection ...

I just looked at everything shown, (including a super-zoom at 400%), and discovered a couple of "possibles." Which can be seen in the ...

First picture ... 10th bottle from the right. (partial label). It definitely starts with "Big," but I can't make out the rest of it, other than it sure looks like a baseball player holding a bat on his shoulder. I know what the regular "Big Hit" looks like (see below) and know that the e-bay one is different. But is there a variation "Big Hit" acl that I am not aware of?

5th picture ... (And the same one posted above) Look just behind the "Fan" bottle. Is the one behind it a "Birdie?"

Hmmm ... I wonder. [:)]

Here's a cropped picture of the "Big" something bottle that I mentioned. Now change your zoom setting to about 400% and you should be able to make out what looks like a baseball player holding a bat on his shoulder. The zoom setting is on the lower right of most desktop screens. Just click on the down arrow to change it.

And below is a "Birdie" bottle for comparison.

Hey Jay ~

How'z about 60 of us each sending you $50.00. Then you buy and re-sell the collection and we'll split the profits accordingly. I'm in and I'm serious ... especially if it can be determined there are some valuable bottles in the collection. Of course you would be compinsated for your time and efforts. But we can work that out later.

If anyone is game, I elect myself to contact the seller about some of the bottles. But don't do that yet as he may not even know what he has, and just selling them to get rid of them. I just wish I knew for sure if those two bottles, and possibly some others, are valuable. As most of us know, a "Big Hit" and a "Birdie" are worth about $1000.00 each!
