It may seem strange, but one of my bottle related prized possession isn't a bottle! I have several Hoods Sarsaparillas which while nice to look at aren't all that rare. Last year at a flea market I came across a booklet published by Hoods called "Hoods Sarsapirilla Book Of Parlor Games". It contains a lot of games they used to play in the 70's & 80's (that's 1870's) along with a lot of testimonials of the miraculous cures due to ingesting Hoods. Everything from boils, catarrh, rheumatism, pimples, blindness, deafness, poison ivy, malaria and women's difficulties were cured!! I think advertising items associated with the bottles add a great deal of interest to the collection. This booklet was published around 1878-80 as it makes reference to the 1st edition 0f 1877. I will get a picture out soon.
