Hey all
Heres almost a hundred glass marbles that came from the same little 4 by 6 area of a small trash pit dating 1900 to 1940 .There were quite a few clay marbles to.That were I got the 100 count .

Any body see anything good as I know nothing about marbles. My wife scarf them up anyway so I've never really got to know to much about them.
Thanks for any help.

WOOOOOW! I've found lots of marbles in a small area before and usually find pieces of the jar they were thrown out in, but never a hundred! That had to have been a rush! I'd have been in heaven. [&:] True blue marble collectors use jeweler's loops and their grading scale is unforgiving of the slightest ding, ping, inclusion, fisheye, fleabite, chip. Most of the marbles we dig are terribly damaged in their eyes. Marbles can be repaired or patched but Mr. True Blue carries a mini black light to inspect the marbles because repairs are revealed under ultraviolet light (works on bottles too). Marbles can also be polished to remove a milimeter at a time of damage. But again, Mr. True Blue carries a micrometer and measures each marble to guard against that. And yeah, looks like there are a few gems in that massive haul of yours. Some general rules of thumb that you can loosely apply: the larger the marble, the more desirable it is. The more colorful, multi-colored the better. If you ever find any clear marbles with a rainbow swirl of color inside (not the common cat eyes with only one color) or an object like an animal or a number inside, wrap them up in something soft to protect from any further damage. Those have serious potential! Bottles are generally worth considerably more than 99% of all the marbles you'll ever find BUT just as we're starting to see the Thanksgiving Hobbleskirt Coke bottle emerge into the field as a money bottle now, some marbles will soon do the same. My hat's off to ya' for a hundred marble day! KUDOS!!!
