Hi all,

I found this round slugplate Wm T Allen Paterson NJ hutch. This is a cool example in that all the N's are backwards. I'm unfamiliar with it, but I figured Jim (epackage) may know much better about it. I was curious if this a common version or not. I've seen the Allen's with the Live and Let Live, but not this one. It's been dug, & does have some stain, but no chips or cracks.

All the best,
~Tim

Hi Tim, yes this is the norm for this bottle, I have one sitting 5 feet from me as we speak....I love the reversed N's as well....Great job taking pic's of it by the way, my bottle needs a good cleaning...Jim

This comes from a time after he and his partner Mr. Tiffany parted and before he brought his son into the company....

Yes it is, nothing better than goofy embossing, I think I have about a dozen or so with mistakes...

Way cool. You (well I guess, I) don't see obvious mistakes like that in bottles that are post-pontil era. At least they were consistant. Every single N is messed up.

Hey Tim & Jim.

NNNice photos! Coupla inside Paterson questions, if you gentlemen don't mind. Are there any excess "T" Paterson bottles, renaming the town Patterson? Speaking of T&A, do y'all have the Spruce Beer?

Yes, excess T's do happen in a few bottles, more so when people are listing them though. I am looking to get the Spruce Beer to go with this grouping in the first pic, let me know if you have one[8D]....The Holy Grail of Paterson bottles, the Archdeacon Mineral Waters is spelled with two T's along with a Kinch Ten Pin bottle....The funny thing is I have a Wm T Allen blob which looks like the same slug plate as the blob but only one N is reversed as you can see in the pic below...Jim

Hello All, just signed up to the forum. I was researching a few items because we are getting ready to auction off my deceased mother's estate. I have a Wm. T. Allen bottle from Paterson, NJ. All the similar bottles I've seen have "rounded" Paterson, NJ lettering, but the one I have is straight. Is this rare?
