early US Patent info

Can anyone suggest a website or resource on how to get pre 1872 US Patent info?

I have a bottle and I'm trying to find out what it was used for. It's info and pic is poseted in the "Unanswered Questions" forum, under the thread " any ideas on *this* one? pic included... "

I've done some sleuthing, but keep getting dead ends....

I found a site by searching google that might help you. I am unable to access it at the moment because the computer I am using only lets you onto certain sites.

I just checked it out...sorry but i think it's an australian bottle page...I don't know if it'll help...Like I said in the first post, I couldn't check it out on that computer.
