These were recovered from a lake in NH.

Me too, I have a couple of river sites that are just loaded with them. These are just a smattering of some in my collection, the large one is not a marble though, I am told it is a form of cannon ball made from rose granite and designed to explode on impact as a frag grenade, I found it in Portsmouth Harbor near where early sailing ships were built.
