The thing that is surprising to me is that there was even an iron pontil marked Hosp bottle.
I would love to know when and where that was made.
Most of the bottles are attributed to Pittsburgh and Baltimore glass companies who were large and I would assume "state of the art" factories.

I don't know what it looked like, it sold in glassworks in 1991. I really do think Jim knows what an open pontil mark is though.

Matt, I believe the aqua jars were made at Baltimore, so I can only assume the iron pontil version was made there as well. I have heard of it through research, but I have never seen one myself.

Yes, I am sure he does justanolddigger. I was merely stating I was unaware of an open pontil mark on these bottles. Whoever bought the blue one in 91 may have a one of a kind.
