is that what they meat by "bottoms up".....(ok that was bad)......great that for the majority no sleeze bag has taken them...around here we seem to have a rash of vandals destroying headstones.couldnt imagine what they would do if they came across those bottles

That is really neat. Thanks for sharing with us. I didn't see this post at first, as I am not a soda collector. To try to answer Wheelah's question, perhaps the graves have sunken over time. I've seen that, and didn't know what it was at first. For pale scotsman, try rubbing some flour all over the stones, or doing grave rubbings, to see the dates. Both can be easily cleaned up and won't harm the stones.

That's cool! Though, I'm surprised some jerk didn't nab them from the gravesite. Close to where I live ( a few towns over) some dirtbags have been stealing bronze plaques from war heroes graves to sell for scrap. It takes a lowdown scumbag to do such a thing and I hope Karma gives the guilty parties a huge kick in the butt.

That war plaque stealing is about as low as you can get! When I first moved down here you saw quite a few CSA markers for the confederate soldiers in the older cemeteries. Most of them were pulled by the families for safe keeping, but many walked off in the middle of the night.

Hello Scotsman! That is really nice grave marking! Good thing its still there. I wonder if earlier bottles were replaced with later ones over time? By the way, I bought a broken Jones Mill SS on e-bay a while back (for a LOT of $$ too). Was that yours?
