I think I have mentioned before that I make my living (or part of it) from selling old & not so old bottles etc. Twice a year or so I get orders from shops up country and then do a trip to deliver them. Thought I'd post a few photos to show what it involves. (also gives me a break from washing !![:D])
Here's a batch fresh out of the wash : (wish they stayed this shiny!)

A closer shot of some of the castor oils. Incidentally this is only the start of the washing etc. Eventually most of the floor space is covered with boxes ~ & don't ask what the wife feels about her floor etc ! []

Some of the 100 or so boat inks that will go off. Interesting is the arrowed ink which still has a little of the wax that was placed over the cork :

What does take time is that each bottle gets a tag to identify it & give a bit of information about it. I find this makes the bottles more interesting to potential customers. Here's a typical one on a Holbrook's sauce bottle:

Very nice bottles. The bottles in South Africa seem to be better then Jersey bottles[;)]

I'll keep my Jersey stuff thanks [;)]

Wow! That seems like a lot of effort for bottles to give to someone else. How much do they pay you for them?

Quite a racket you have going there, Dale! [;)] So do you sell them wholesale or get commissions? And do you dig them up yourself?
I'd like to own a S Africa bottle..

Gee, Cyber, "racket" ? You make me sound like Al Capone[] ! To answer your questions:
I give the shops a bit of discount on my table prices (but not too much !)
Some are bottles I dug myself, but I have also bought up some big "collections" or accumulations of bottles & then sell these off.
You could well own one as I am going to advertise that amber marble hybrid on the "for Sale" thread.
