Here are a couple of nice early Fells point Baltimore historical flasks for those that care about these types of bottles. Both bottles Commemorate George

Washington with a figural bust and both have the Washington monument located in Baltimore on them.Determining the age of the flasks is quite easy as

both monuments on each bottle are void of Washington's statue affixed at the top.The Monument was partially completed in 1825 10 years after its

inception although a statue of Washington himself was soon to come. These bottles were made between 1824 and 1829 just a few blocks South and

East from the monuments site, fore in November of 1829 Washington's statue was finally placed atop the long shaft seen today.Later bottles from the

Baltimore glass works and also from these Fells point works have Washington on the monument making them easier to date also. Both bottles are listed

as scarce, are a pretty shade of light green, have busts of Washington not seen on like bottles and have rough pontils. The color is what really sets these

off. I have two sets of each bottle in my collection as the other two are aqua in color.OK.................................

That's the good news, now for the more somber news from my perspective. This has been building for quite some time.I joined this forum in 2007 I

believe and I went by the name sewellbottleman. My original reason for coming to this place was to rediscover my early bottle collecting hobby which

dissapeared with the advent of early adulthood and all that comes with it.There were members going by the forum names Capsoda,Whiskeyman,

Guntherhess,Flashenjager,Baltbottles and BRIAN S. that were extremely helpful to me in my quest for information. They answered every question I had

proposed promptly and professionally and I am forever grateful to these gentleman for making my stay here a good one. Some of these members are

gone from the forum others check in now and then and some are regular quite active members to this day.All of you should be thankful for them for

should they leave you wont fill their shoes anytime soon.

I have had my ups and downs here.My username got banned for posting pictures of misfits in Walmart.I lost all of my posts

deservedly so because of it and I was just starting to come into my own at this place.Losing all the posts was really tough to

deal with at the time.I rebounded and put it behind me and continued to write about historic glass. From my own

perspective I always envisioned this place could have become a living historical pictorial, electronic, archive chock full of

informative glass news,Pictures of great bottles, and stories told by other collectors filled with informative exciting bottle

news.

Sadly for me it has never achieved this. When I construct my sometimes long winded posts at this place a lot of work and

time goes into creating them and when know one is responding it is apparent I am preaching to the choir.I know there are

other members here with very similar collecting tastes like mine but I would have never known as virtually no one except a

small handful of members have either thanked or responded in some fashion.I posted in this section because of the

relevance of the title and its description as why to post here in the first place.

I had always hoped other members would come on here in this section of the forum and just sit down and tell us a good

historical glass related story or give us information as to what to look for when looking or digging bottles. This section is

described as follows by the forum designers. Antique-Bottles.Net is supporting this Historic Glass Bottle Identification &

Information Website by Bill Lindsey and Members who would like to contribute their knowledge and expertise can do so

here. I have never had Bill Lindsey the man behind this section come onto any one of my posts and either correct me,just

add too the conversation or congratulate or scold me.I couldn't tell you if the man is still alive or not.Maybe he gave up also

for lack of interest. This is the least visited section of the forum and 95 percent of the posts are mine

Guys and Gals,

I was never seeking thanks or accolades for any of this, nor am I looking for any PLEASE STAYs or we will miss you.I was

just seeking camaraderie and good glass banter.I now know unfortunately the time has really come to saying goodbye to

all of you. When you are ignored it is worse then being chastised. At the end of the day I am sad and disappointed things

never really worked out for what I trying to accomplish in this section of this web site.I have left the forum before in the

past and came back again hoping to spark some new interest or change. This time it feels different to me as the fires of

passion have been pretty much extinguished. For those of you who may have enjoyed my posts get involved and share your

own thoughts make the place interesting for if you don't members will leave and you will have nothing more then a glorified

Facebook environment. Some words of wisdom to some of you, spend most of your time at this forum in the bottle

sections, the General Chat although mostly good can be very devise and will turn members against members because of

politics and religion when before their most common denominator was the love of old glass.

Cheers, and may God bless each and every one of you today and the rest of your collecting careers!! ......I can still be

emailed if any of you want a second opinion on a bottle which may not be your strong point.

I hate to see you leave Steve, it has always been enlightening and enjoyable to read your posts and get your historical perspective. Even though they didn't pertain to my area of collecting I really enjoyed each and everyone of your posts even though I didn't always take the time to respond. I have always hoped to see your own personal museum someday and I still hope that day comes, you'll be missed by me and many others here....[&o]

I have always enjoyed your posts, and like Jim says, don't always have the time to post a reply.
I have had many posts go by without much comment but I always assumed that folks do not have time or are not really interested in what I posted. Of course, my posts are not the caliber of yours.
