Jeff ,
Here are some of the ones I have begun to collect.1st up the Lafayete boat 1825 1830 reasonable to assume it was made during or slightly after his triumphant return to the United States at the end of 1825.I know the spelling of Lafayete is incorrect but that is what makes the piece interesting I think.

This next Lacy salt is known as an Oval as the bowl and the base are oval in shape. All of the salts in this category have either all of the following attributes, or a combination of them. They are the Cornucopia Diamond Star & Scroll. This particular salt is listed as rare by Neal as the OL 12.You can see the horns of plenty overflowing with fruit. This salt is also an early one made sometime between 1826 and 1838 based on the importance the Masons still yielded in the 1820s and 1830s.

In Greek Mythology the Cornucopias definition translated is the horn of Plenty. When Zeus was playing with the goat Amalthea (Amaltheia), he accidentally broke off one of her horns. To atone for this, Zeus promised Amalthea that the horn would always be full of whatever fruits she desired. This became the cornucopia of the Roman goddess Copia, the personification of plenty. Other goddesses, including Fortuna and Pax, also held the cornucopia. All of the Masons symbolism comes from acient Egypt and Greece. The following titles and duties are assigned to the Senior and Junior Stewards in the Masonic lodge.

Senior Steward - Lodge Officer Duties:

His Jewel is the Cornucopia, which is an exact duplicate of the Junior Steward's Cornucopia. The Cornucopia signifies the "Horn of Plenty". It is a goat horn filled with the fresh fruits and vegetables to denote the "fruits of your labors" and represents a job well done. The Senior Steward of a Masonic Lodge is an appointed officer of the Lodge. The Senior Steward is tasked to understudy the Junior Deacon's position and fill in for the Junior Deacon when absent.
The Junior Deacon's principle role is to prepare the candidates during ritual and escort them to the lodge room and assist the Senior Deacon. In their entry Officer positions, both the Senior and Junior Stewards typically handle kitchen duties and wait staff for the members. The Senior Steward's position is similar to that of a Supervisor.

Junior Steward - Lodge Officer Duties:

His Jewel is the Cornucopia, which is an exact duplicate to the Senior Steward's Cornucopia. The Cornucopia signifies the "Horn of Plenty".It is a goat horn filled with the "fruits of your labors" and represents a job well done. The Junior Steward of a Masonic Lodge is an appointed officer of the Lodge. The Junior Steward is tasked to understudy the Senior Steward position and fill in for the Senior Steward in his absence. The Junior Steward's principle role is to assist the Senior Steward and the Senior Deacon in the preparation of the Candidates. Both the Senior and Junior Stewards carry rods, atop which are the jewels of their offices. The rods represent England's Lord High Steward's rod in the House of Lords. The Junior Steward position is similar to that of a Supervisor.

So as you can see the Cornucopia is really a symbol brought to us by the very influential Masons who had a political and financial stranglehold on New England in particular during the early 1800s.On the base of this salt is a 28 pointed sun ray design seen over and over again on everything from flasks to bowls, plates, drinking glasses and every conceivable piece of glass made in the early part of the United States again particularly in New England and also the 28 point star or rays emanating is a very Masonic symbol. The cornucopias are on the left and right.
