Here is a sweet little iron pontiled porter that I just purchased from one of our fine forum colleagues. 1850s double-collar BROWN STOUT with blank rectangular slug on the front. The color is killer, I just love it. The mold is very similar to that of the Jacob Schuster Brown Stout from Danville, PA and a few other Pennsylvania embossed porters I have seen.

Blank rectangular slug on the front. P*ss-poor lighting does not do the color justice, but it's always dark out when I decide to take bottle pictures [>:]

It has a nice little glass flap, as well. Now, I need to find one in cobalt so it has a buddy on the shelf. ~Jim

Thanks, Jim. I'm quite pleased with it, and plan to add a few more pontiled beers and sodas after Christmas.

The flap is just a pinch of glass that got squeezed out of the mold and then flattened during manufacture. I think they add some character to these early bottles. ~Jim
