Around 25 -30 years ago, a young boy was molested in Baton Rouge. The man fled the state. He was eventually caught. He never tried to deny what he did and actually gloated about it. He was really a horrible man. I don't remember all the details, but things were such that he might get off or be given a light sentence. You know how that goes...he wasn't read his rights in the proper way, the police were wearing mismatched socks when they arrested him or they didn't offer him a hot beverage during his first hour in jail.
As the police were escorting this guy through the Baton Rouge airport after bringing him back, the boy's father stepped in front of them, pulled out a pistol and shot him dead. He then handed his pistol to the police. The father was tried by a local jury and he not found guilty of murder but of a lesser crime and the judge gave him probation. I don't think there was a jury in all of Louisiana that would have sent this dad to prison.
