History

Charles J. Reuter was born in Germany in 1839. His family moved to St. Louis in 1849. In 1858 they moved to Lebanon where Charles' father had a grocery. At some point Charles moved to New Orleans and worked at a brewery. In 1863 he moved to St. Louis. In 1868 he moved back to Lebanon and built a soda factory. He ran the business until around 1895. He then sold it to Frederick Auer who ran it until 1913.

Description

This old blob still has its wire bail that held the cork. It is 7 1/2" tall and embossed:

CHARLES REUTER / LEBANON, ILL

On the back it is embossed:

A & D. H. C
