I was looking at the embossing of this squat soda and there's something odd about it. I remember last year there was a laser-etched squat soda that was done in the 1970s that drew a lot of attention. Is the font something that was found in the 1850-60s period?

Considering all of the letters are raised I'm gonna say this is right as rain...

Taking a second look I see what you mean RIBG...the actual G. Upp is an odd font for the time period...but looking at Tod's site still makes me think it's actually the real deal...Jim

E-Bay on left, Tod's example on right...Slightly different angles but they sure are close, and the letter layouts match up the same from the top to bottom letters..

It's the real deal, probably the most common of the Upp family. Here is a harder to find version without the "York, Pa":
