Saw this on the cincinnati craiglist page. Looks like a lot of aqua here. Am I right that like with fruit jars, colors other than aqua and clear are good, provided they're original?

You would have to really know insulators and go through them closer to know if its worth $200. I see a couple pieces there with a bit of value, but their sure isnt anything sitting there that is screaming at me.

As I said, you would have to go see them closely to know if $200 is good or not.

I looked at the picture closely, i'd buy it for $50..MAYBE $55 if i just got paid, and perhaps a little more if that was the same guy in Cinci with the anti-sway bar i want for my car to sweeten the deal.

With insulators the colour to value ratio varies sometimes. Sure, clear is a common colour, but say you have a clear hemingray 9 with a patent date on it- (or 2 that are sort of clear [;)])- there's not to many of those, so sometimes clear is a rare colour... normally in older insulators when clear was a hard colour to make... or something like that.
I can't think of any examples where a common style of insulator in aqua turned out to be rare though... but that's just me.

Also... sometimes an insulator might be some crazy colour (but not too crazy) and not worth too much, but that's not too common 'uh occurrence. Mostly in Russia... where they liked to make insulators cobalt blue.

Despite the seller's claims, I don't see anything there that would sell for 50+. A couple 10-15 dollar pieces, the rest would probably end up on the free table. And the irradiated brown Hemingray 9 would have to get disposed of.

I suppose it's possible there might be an odd embossing variant in there, but chances are pretty slim. Those don't sell very quickly unless you know a specialist who's looking for that particular piece.
