Been a member of this forum for awhile and used to get on quite a bit. My interest changed a bit and I started collecting marbles and not so many bottles. I remembered the marble thread here and decided to poat a pic of some of my braggers. So here goes, tell me if you'd like to see more.

Welcome back, Karl,

Count me in, please. I'm a marble ignoramus, hoping to learn some...

I'd love to hear what there is to brag about being a marble novice to say the least...Jim

No brag,

just fact.

I'm a long standing marble ignoramus.

I always like finding them though.

Used to slingshot some marbles as a kid.

I've dug me a few marbles, but I don't know a Bennington from an Oxblood from a Whosamabobble. Let's hear some marbley stories!

Like those Peltier Multi Colored Swirls. Used to have a bunch but sold them off. Just Transitionals and Slags for me though I do have a smattering of other ones. Used to be heavy into Akro and German types. I got more marble pics than bottle pics believe it or not.[:D]

Thanks for the responses and the welcome back. My story is this...
While growing up in N.W. Ohio my Dad was a collector/hoarder of all things great and small. He had several jars of marbles, some I could play with others were off limits. When Dad passed last year I found these jars and a whole bunch more in a 5 gal. bucket. I wanted to know what was so special about the ones I wasn't allowed to touch. Well to my suprise not anything was special, all very common marbles. I guess he just liked them best. While identifying the marbles at hand a transformation of sorts happened. I fell in love with these little glass orbs. So, for the past year or so I have been buying selling and collecting marbles. I have a couple favorite makers Peltier Glass, who is the company that made the marbles in the pic. Akro Agate is my other favorite. There are several other companies who made marbles, some of which I have also collected because they could be bought for realitively low cost and still had great eye appeal. I learn something new about marbles nearly every day. There is a Forum that I'm a member of, with the same type of people that attracted me to this one. Except it is All About Marbles as well as being the name of the forum. Interested? Take a look. My user name there is ididit. I still love my bottles and jars but this marble bug hit me hard. I will be checking in here more often as I do miss reading the digging stories and the ID's of the the bottles, not to mention all the great folks I have had the pleasure of getting to know even if it is only through text. Thanks All.

Those are some very sweet looking Akros. You picked some great ones to hold on to. I get on LOM every once in awhile, it is a very good site as well.
