C.E. Emmons !/2 Pint Milk

My husband found a unique 1/2 pint C.E. Emmons 908 6th Avenue milk or cream bottle, the base reads Pat Sept 17 1889. Does anyone know anything about this little jem. On the back it says TO be Washed nd Returned.

Any and all help is appreciated!!

That sounds like a nice early milk. I found C. E. Emmons listed as a milk dealer in NYC at that address in 1892. Any chance you could grace us with a picture? I love 1890's milks, and I know many other people do too...

I would love to but I don't know how to load a picture on here!! Tell me the steps and I will post the pic's. We are from South Jersey originally so I will see if the husband has any Jersey bottles. He has just about every bottle this house can hold!

I don't, first one I've ever seen. I think it would bring good money because of the lack of info on the dairy, it's condition and age, but that's not always the case. You could always put it up on Ebay with a reserve price, I think the milk collectors would be all over it...Jim

That's just as awesome a bottle as I hoped it would be! Very cool. The top is wicked crude, and you never see tapered tops like that on milks... I think the only thing hurting the value is that it's from NYC. But I think it still has considerable value to the right milk collector. Where'd you get it, maybe go back there and look for more!
