My guess it's a Chinese ceremonial jar, but usually it made from metal (cooper or brass) not glass.

Hey Dan, cool find there. Interesting base on that one...
I like the crude pieces on the rim whch just add to the character.
Personally it reminds me of something you would burn incense in, but the possibilites are open there...Most Definitely a ceremonial piece, or that there of.

Hi Dansalata, I like the looks of that little three handled cup dish. The way the handles are applied tell me it is fairly old and hand made. Steve Atkinson should have commented on this one. RED Matthews

Don't knock the Mexicans. I haven't researched their history but it most places the Europeans settled, glass was one of the first things they tried to produce, meaning 400+ years isn't out of the question.
I think it looks older and more Middle Eastern myself. Again, nothing to back that up.
There probably are ways to speed up sickness and decay on glass to under a year and that may be how a lot of fakes are done. A museum wound be a good place to go for verification.
The other thing I was thinking is it would be more tableware if it is ancient. A salt or spice dish maybe. The rich were more likely to own a fragile, hard to make piece than a poor family. A nomad probably wouldn't bother to carry it at all.[:)]
Talking out my you know but you asked for opinions.[:D]
