I just picked up an iron pontil mineral water bottle that I'm thinking is kind of rare as I have been unable to find any mention of the bottle or the Erie Pa. company that it belonged to. On one side it is embossed with "J & H Kneib's Improved" and the reverse side is embossed "Mineral Water Erie, Pa." I uploaded a picture but the color looks a little different in photo. It is actually much darker than picture looks. It is a light bluish green, not teal. I'd say more on the green side but difinitely not aqua. If anyone is familiar with this or can post a link to a website that has any info about it I would greatly apreciate it. Joe

I'd say you have a pretty rare one there Joe. I'm not seeing a listing for it anywhere, and not finding it on Tod or Wil's sites. You should contact them and see if they have some info on it as i'm sure they would be interested in hearing about that one.

Tod's site is...

Wil's site is...

Good luck and a great find!

Jacob & Henry Kneib (Knibe) were brewers in Erie. The partnership dissolved in 1861, but I cannot find when it started. Definately after 1853 as they were not listed as brewers then.

I'll have this listed on my next update.

Do you have a picture of the back?
