Awesome boomtown lid, that is one superb piece to have! Never figured that there were any Nevada potlids.

Any idea on age?

Really beautiful piece. Must be one of the rarest Western lids.

Oddly enough, but a friend and I dug a small pit here in Sacramento, CA, that held 2 of those lids, plus several VC pharmacies. Go figure. Why did those bottles and lids end up down here? I can only surmise that the person who carried them was quite possibly transported via the Virginia and Truckee RR to the CPRR connection at Reno, then by that RR to Sacramento. The pit was within easy walking distance from the depot.
