Pulled a couple of Insulators off a pole just north of London , Ont. that I'm looking for information on. First is a Green Canadian Pacific Ry. CD-143 in near mint condition. I'm not sure what it's called but the embossing is in a band that I know in the die was machined out to accomodate a change in the embossing. The band is only on the one side ( half of the diameter ). This insulator doesn't have Co. embossed , only Canadian Pacific Ry

The other is an N.E.G.M. Co. insulator which I think is a CD-145 ,nice colour and only has a very small "fish eye" ding ( barely noticeable on the dome ).
Wodnering if they are good ones.
I know the N.E.G.M. Co. is a New England Glass Manufatcuring Co. product, but I didn't expect to find one of these on a pole in London , Ont.

Any information is appreciated.

Thank You

The band is called "slug plate embossing". None of the slug embossing Can Pacs had the "co" embossed. That is a fairly typical colour that you see them in.

The NEGM 145s show up on a lot of the CP lines here in Southwestern Ontario. You can get them in some interesting colours as well sometimes, and they are also super junky in many cases.(huge bubbles, snow, milk, etc)

Cool finds!

Barrett is good. I have not seen much of him in a while. He spent the summer working on Baffin Island, as he has done schooling to become a geologist, well I guess he IS a geologist, and a damn good one at that.

He got back at the start of September, and right away left for a 20 +/- days driving trip of Eastern Canada, so he just got back yesterday. Since I live with him, I should be talking to the old chap a bit after tomorrow night when he should get back to our place for good.

He has limited internet access during the summer, and no insulator finds so that is probably why you dont see him write to ICON very much. May see some activity from him coming up soon.

I've found some NEGM Co. 145's on the ground along the CP line through Peterborough too. They are an odd shaped 145, they almost look like tall variant 143's when you see them on poles.

That GNW 143 is nice. Is it available for sale?
