My brother found this piece of a purple November 30th 1858 mason jar behind our house and i cant find in my book so whats it worth?

Really, what's a piece of glass worth???
I guess if you find out how much per ton at a recycle place and divide by the weight?
I have no idea. [:D][:D][:D]

If it is amethyst color, HG, QT and Pt = $10-25...I don't see a purple shade mentioned in the RedBook. Another picture of the shard in daylight would be helpful. Also putting it on the Jar Forum would be even better!! [;)]
