Hello all and Happy New Years!

Here is another lid that I have recently found. This is another one that I cannot find much information on. It is actually my very first non - UK based lid. This one is from Montreal Canada.

I have found several glass Lyman's bottles such as the cough syrups, the hair restorers, etc but never a lid!

I would greatly appreciate any information on this lid such as date, value and any other general details.

Thanks again all!

I have one of those with chips and it's still my favourite pot lid i've found. I don't know the exact value but its worth more then most of the british ones you will see. Mine came out of a privy with a lot of huchisons and other stuff that made me assume 1880s

Wow! Thats great news! Thanks again for the info guys! I still have a few more lids I will be posting soon.

Is it typical that Canadian lids are more expensive or is this just a rarer Canadian lid?

The coloured variation is a hard one but this one is not. Add a couple of zeros for the higher end stuff. Each county has lids folks chase more than others just like bottles. Canada doesn't have many lids compared to the US or Australia but some of what they do have are most attractive like the Lyman’s. A few other Canadian are pictured here. http://www.deantiques.com/PLG/Canada.htm

Not a hard one, as in not a hard one to find, dare I ask? A couple of zeros would make it 30,000. I have not seen many bottles let alone pot lids that would go that high. Maybe one zero, or are those other variations something special? Don't know and just asking.

40k is the top end achieved in a public sale for a pot lid I've seen so far. High end bottles are another world....

Thanks for your info.
