I can't believe I didn't break it

I went out today, and hadn't found much, until this. It's perhaps 4 inches high, and so incredibly delicate that I couldn't believe it wasn't broken, and that I didn't break it. It's got a wonderful open pontil (I'm bad with recognizing pontils, but when they're like this, I'm good). The lip is more amazing to me, only because, again, it's so very thin. I just wanted to share before I try to clean it, at which point, I may break it. The first picture is of the lip, with a comparison, just so the thinness of the glass can be seen (the new find is the one on the left). The pontil pic to follow.

Hello kraszyfingers; They are both great bottles for anyones collection. Thanks to Jim he downsized them-also. Which bottle does the pontil picture belong to? I would expect that both are probably empontuilled. If the pontil is tube pontilled it is often important to make an angular picture so the amount of the blow pipe glass is showing.
I have collected a lot of those side paneled early meds, because I like the different finishes that developed on them. Yours looks like it might have had a glass stopper. If it did the inside would be ground to size, and it didn't look ground in your picture.
The larger one has a neat flared lip which is a great value adder. The body of that bottle seems to have a patterned texture to it, that I can't detect. Does either of them have any embossing?

Dear God, those pictures are still showing up as enormous on my screen, and I don't seem to be able to edit (though I will keep trying). I, too, Red, love the little apothecary bottles. The pontilled one is on the left. The one on the right is a favorite of mine, but if there's a pontil, it's sanded, and that means I really can't be definitive. I always thought it was BIM with no pontil, but I could be wrong. The new one (so the one on the left) is paper thin, including the lip, and I'm just amazed at how it lasted all this time. Neither are embossed, but the one one the right is octagonal. I'll try for a better picture of the bottom, later (and I promise it won't be huge). I washed the mud off, and I'd like to clean it, but I'm not sure how to go about that without breaking it.

Hi Crazy, Im still getting used to resizing and getting better. Im sorry I dont remember who suggested I open my pictures with Paint. Just right click w/ your mouse, Find "Open With" one of your options will be paint, click that option and go to Image, the drop down option of resize is the one you want. It will already be at 100, change it to around 40 or 50 for both the top and bottom. If you like the size you want to "Save As" whatever it already is. I Hope it helps. Keep posting!

] but I should know betterI like to think that it was just my excitement. That same day, I brought home a bronze heron (over 5 feet!), and a few other things, all right before I needed to go to work. I didn't break my little bottle, but I bruised a few other things. I need to post a few for some thoughts, and I hope to get to that in the next few! I also still need to clean my little bottle. It's like an endless cycle...I get rid of a few, and I bring home twice as many.
