Your object does appear to have kewpie-like features. I am sure there is lots of info to be had on the Internet about kewpie dolls. They are very collectible. There are lots of kewpie knock-offs.

Your doll appears to be glazed. Most, if not all, of the kewpies I have seen have been made of bisque, that is, unglazed vitrified china.

It has been a long time since I did any research on them, but I seem to recall that the top-knot of hair and the wings at the neck are distinctive. I believe that some of the original kewpies had an identifying debossment on the back, though that mark is not universal, IIRC.

Here is a little doll I dug many years ago at a rural home-site here in Northcentral Florida. I never did find this exact doll in my research.
