Don't tell me people are stooping to reproducing lead labels for pickles and sauces. Looks like a 2nd grade art project.

I've owned a small collection of original lead foil labels and some lead lids from a San Francisco dig site, and I think that label looks pretty real.

You might be right, but what makes you think it's fake? Just curious, I'm not looking for a fight....

Lettering looks like it was done by a 1st grader, but having never seen one before it may be right on the money for all I know...

To me it looks like a foil rubbing from an original much later that pontil. Where is the pontil? Neat little pepper sauce though. Not 300 bucks worth any way you look at it.

There are a couple of good pictures on p. 432 of Zumwalt's, that look way different in detail to me.
