Remember T D's picture of those Chero bottles all in a line along a fence post? That picture was totally awesome. It is one of my absolute favorites that anyone here has taken. And I say this with all due respect to Rory (Road Dog) who takes the most gorgeous pictures ever of his crude pontilled whittled bottles. No one tops Rory. But still that Chero picture was cool.

If you don't mind, I'd like to paint a mental picture for a moment. Five crowns are lined up on a wooden rail. The closest bottle looks largest and each bottle farther down the line shrinks a little smaller (because of perspective). The bottles are all the same but each displays it's subtle coloration. The colors change from the aqua blues and greens to citron to sun tinted amethyst. What is truly stunning is the misty foggy background with a hint of a treeline in the background. The sky is either daybreak or twilight. Either way, gorgeous.

What is so neat (besides the background) is that the bottles are basically crowns with some color variation. I probably wouldn't even want a Chero bottle at all as I don't collect crowns. But, I love the idea. Just messing around today, I tried to follow up with some similar color variation.

First, the actual image from T D. This shot is way better than mine - but I wanted to start off with it. Mine were just taken in a windowsill today.

Nice, now take those wolf bottles out to a misty meadow or ocean scene and do the perspective thing on a nice piece of wood and get back to us[;)]

Thanks Cobalt. I am going to do it! As far as I know there is exactly one known example of that Wolf bottle in amber. A buddy of mine has it and he lives in a pretty area. For the last two years I've been trying to get ovet there some time when it's convenient. I'm planning to pack up my bottles and the camera to try to get one of those gorgeous pics like TD's. (Then I can hang it up on the wall and drool over that amber one).[:D]
