Hi everyone. Dug about 1/2 of a small RI druggist today, and wanted to see if it was known before discarding. It's embossed S. W. Himes & Co., People's Pharmacy, Phenix R.I. Taylor, or others, do you know of it?

Ah, this brings back memories! The third dump I dug as a kid was near my house at the Marchant house. This ca. 1730s colonial had a long ditch about 500 feet from the back of the house. It had been dug, but I was persistent. There were more rocks than bottles, and it was apparent who the winner was. Amidst the carnage I was delighted to find two nearly unscathed S.W. Himes bottles. I currently have four different examples, and am working on acquiring a scarce large size.

Phenix was a mill village in Warwick, RI. Ironically, the mill burned down a few years ago and was rebuilt as apartments.
