I have a square shaped dark amber, sheared top microbe killer bottle thats 10 1/8" tall with the WR on the top. It doesn't have the usual embossed reaper with scythe and skeleton. Instead it has a series of non random dots on the face that someone told me was old style braille. Does anyone have any info on this bottle and/or what it may be worth?

Hello Joe,

Welcome to the Blue Pages, and thanks for the inquiry. I don't know how we can advise you without some good photographs of said bottle. Is it a Radam's Microbe Killer Drink?

Do you know why there is braille on the bottle? Because the stuff was so strong it would make you go blind.[:D]

I only know about the Microbe jugs and the Reaper and skeleton examples

I've had examples of the radam's bottle that were so underblown that the skeleton and embossing resembled braille. Maybe thats what you have? There is also a shoulder embossed only variant, I cant say I've ever seen an American bottle with braille on it, or any old bottle for that matter, I didn't think braille was widely used here until the early 20th century. Post a pic!

there is a variant with the embossing pinged out and it looks like braille where the embossing used to be. Its not meant to be braille, just looks that way. I couldn't say that's what your bottle is without seeing it though... There is one with the embossing all on the base also...
