ALDERNEY OLD RYE WHISKEY CHRIS GALLAGHER 806 LOMBARD ST PHILA

Hey DC Dave,

Welcome to the A-BN & thanks for showing us most of your bottle. It's often good to include photos of the base & finish in natural light to show the color. It's a nice example. I can't speak to the rarity or value.

Here's one of his Ads from 1896.

"CHRISTOPHER GALLAGHER, 1881
Was born in Trimdilton, Cpounty Donegal,
Ireland, and came to the United States,
July 12, 1856, and settled in Philadelphia,
where he is in the wholesale liquor busi-
ness, at 806 Lombard street. He is a
member of the Catholic Club, the Amer-
can Catholic Historical Society; President
of Building and Loan Association, and
connected with various other organizations." History of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick

He was at the same stand in 1906.

There a beautiful stoneware jug in yonder New Jersey.

I had one in the same color as yours and it sold on the bay for $200.00 about 6 months ago. It is fairly rare, however all the big time collectors may already have an example. If you can find it in the pint or a straw yellow coloration it does a little better. Hope this helps.

To bad we couldn't have pulled one of those out of the foot warmer lot. When did you dig that?
