Wondering if any of you UK diggers can help me with a little problem I have with a rare previously un-known Aussie Patent Aerated Water bottle.
It is identical to an Edward' s patent that I found listed in the book Mineral Waters and Closures by Russell Harrison.
I have found a ' P.G. Dixon & Co Roslyn St Melbourne' Edwards Patent missing it' s top.
This is the first example of this bottle to surface so far and I would like to repair and polish the bottle.
What I need is an Edwards Patent top so I can get the bottle repaired, I have not seen this style of top on any other Australian bottle so it seems to be imposable to find one here.
I don' t usually worry about repairing bottles but as this is the first example I feel it is worth saving if possible.
If anyone in the UK has dug a broken Edwards Patent top or has a common or plain example I would love to here from you, I don' t mind buying it or swapping something I have you need for your collection.
