I saw one for sale recently, but I did not pull the trigger as the guy wanted good money for it.

I'd like to add at least one to my collection. Any info on what I should be looking for or values would also be great.

If I could find one associate with a shipwreck or FL - that would be fantastic.

You should have no trouble finding a decent one in the $60-90 range...

Anyone here have one for sale? Anything in particular I should look for in one as to age or rarity?

Steve thanks for the eBay listings.

Are these good prices or can I get these cheaper at bottle shows etc? Someone else advised that I should be able to get some for approx $60.

Also does anyone know what is better / more rare for these bottles or what to look for to date them? One of the listings was for an amber onion and states that it is scarce.

I have seen many with listed dates of 1720s, but I don't know where they get that date and it seems to me the range would be 1700 to 1820s

The type for 60 dollars are usually more or less porter bottles from the early 18oos. The larger free blown onions always command more money. The ones I listed for you are good prices for eBay, as for auctions on bottle sites such as Glass works they usually bring between 200 and 300 depending on condition. So I would say yes 125 to 150 is pretty good price. The ones listed as early as 1720 usually bring upwards of 4 to 5 hundred dollars.
