It has a thick flared lip, not typical of the flared lips you normally see.

Has a solid rod type pontil?? Maybe English??? Cool little bottle regardless.

Hi Steve. Nice bottle. It's not one I've heard of before, and I haven't ever seen reference to D David or his tincture in 18th / 19th century British adverts. I had a quick scan through a couple of databases just now and also drew a blank.

I'll have a more thorough search this evening and may come up with something then.

There's something about the shape of the bottle - up around the shoulders - and especially the style of embossing that isn't very 'usual' for British bottles, and makes me think it's possibly American?

that's a weird one. Either british or a transitional item from somewhere like Philly.
A better photo of the front might help. It looks like it may actually be D Davidson or something else.
I cant enhance it , the photo isn't clear enough but I think the spacing is wrong for D David's
