I was busy doing odds and ends this morning and stopped by the post office before heading back to the house. Still had a lot to do and almost didn't stop, but there's a antiques/thrift kind of store across the street run by a family on weekends. Great folks. I've never had any luck there bottlewise in 20 years, but hope is a powerful thing I guess, so I pulled over to do my usual quickie walk-through. My quick walk did a dead stop when I saw this sitting on, well, I don't even remember what it was sitting on now. Not pontilled, but otherwise as sweet as I could ask for.

Sitting beside a half-gallon Mason. It measures 15" h. x 6" d. and by far the largest bottle in my collection.

Thanks for the encouraging comments Jim, Travis, and Steve. It was a huge deal to me, especially for 10 bucks. I know finds like this are commonplace in northern and midwestern states for obvious reasons, but down here, you just don't see stuff like this. Posts of multiple buys of applied top and even pontilled bottles from one morning hitting yard sales always blows my mind. Usually, the best you might see around here are tooled-top slicks. Sure, I know the older stuff is around here, but it's in the ground and in lesser quantities, and in my area, out in fields under cultivation which make them tuff to find.

Yeah. I kind of like that color. And the bubbles.

I was never much into these big bottles - just too much real estate required to display them - but then I bought some (see Demi More somewhere on these pages). And now I just bought another. It is a lot of glass for the money on these.
