Found this here in Texas over the weekend...my first pot lid. When does it date to and are these common?

Hi,
This shaving cream lid dates to around 1890 -1900 and is not one that is often seen. Obviously not a lot is known about the rarity of French lids but of those that do turn up in other countries some companies items seem to turn up quite regularly.

Thanks much for the information. I know Delettrez had a distribution center in New York, but I would have thought that a pot lid intended for distribution in the US would have been in English. We dig a lot of French stuff here in Texas...not really sure why. Maybe our proximity to New Orleans.
