Completed my art project for New Year's celebration. Most of my bottles come from the ocean and, naturally, more shards than intact ones. Heartbreaking. But I thought I might do something with 19th century bottle necks and bottoms so here it is. 32 necks cut, painted different colors on the inside and mounted in a sphere (ruined my son's globe for this purpose). I will probably hang it on chains later. Have a few pictures of the process so can post them too if anybody finds it interesting.

Globes are like computers, made in the thousands and pretty much out of date before they hit the store shelves. That's a one of a kind thing to last generations. Very cool!

That is pretty freakin' neat if I do say so myself. I was trying to think of ways to use broken pieces, but never thought of that.

Well I wanted to get a metal frame made for in front of our modular home before Christmas, so we could have a bottle tree lighted with a string of lights. Next year maybe. RED Matthews

Thank you, guys! I'm glad you liked it too. I'll post more pictures when it's on chains.
