Just recently got this 32oz Teem. From the makers of pepsi cola. The ayers book vol. 2(2001) lists it at 75$. But I don't think that much in today's market. I paid considerably lower than that. It is from 1973 and came with this screw cap, I am not sure if it is the original cap to a bottle of that year. If anyone knows about this, please share. The cap has the later 'sail' logo.Thanx

I think Ayer's book was overpriced on some of the later bottles, as most collectors just don't care that much for them and desirability is the largest indicator of price. I have two of the ND/NR Teems and a Patio that he has listed for high prices and for the most part people just don't bother with them so getting his prices out of them is just not likely. That's why these price guides are called guides rather than tomes of absolute pricing truth. The prices listed have more to do with someone's opinion of what they should sell for vs reality.

Yeah I agree also. Guide books are just that, a guide, a starting point. I paid under 20$ for it. I think most bottles in the ayers's guide are on the high side also, in todays market. Yeah I did see that other bottle on ebay, I think that one is late 70's. Conteplated bidding on it. That's why I think the cap that came with my bottle doesn't belong to it. I love collecting pepsi and related bottles. I have some patio's as well. Thanx you guys, I've learned alot in the past yr since I started collecting. I do believe I am obsessed now with it.Morbious, I checked out your sight the other night. Very cool and interesting. I collect dew's also and your thoughts on that mystery are excellent.

I have a unique paper label NRND Patio, it's interesting. I love the Pepsi and other Pepsi related bottles also. It's hard to turn those down when you see one.

iggy I looked around but was unable to determine the dates when the Teem "fireworks" and the "sail" images were used. But I think you will agree the "fireworks" image was the first of the two. It does seem a little odd that your bottle has the "fireworks" on the label but the cap has the "sail." To confirm they exist, here's a picture of a threaded cap with the "fireworks" on it ... but I do not know the dates when it was used.

PS Also notice that your bottle has the "curvy" lettering but your cap has the "blockish" lettering. The cap I just posted has the "curvy" lettering.

I also agree a guide is a guide . ebay has changed a lot of collector hobbies, many thought to be scarce and rare items began to be more plentiful as thought before ebay. But more collectors are looking for those same items so it balances out in some cases. As far as the nd/nr I still believe your getting in on the ground floor and if interested in them this is the time to get them before the prices start climbing as the next generation of collectors want the bottles they remember from the 70's and 80's IMHO again.nice teem bottle
