Hi All,I need some opinions on this beautiful piece of glass. It has all the signs of being early american, and it doesn't have the color of a jamestown repro, but I want to know if it's real before I start getting excited. The lid is a set in flanged cover (similar to plate 31 in the 1950 McKearin). The foot is applied and circular. The Jar is lightly ribbed and the glass is not too heavy. It's 5 sided with a neat pentagon shape. There is a very obvious and fairly rough pontil mark on the base and the knob of the lid. The lid color does not perfectly match the jar color... the lid is a bit darker. There are many bubbles and signs of blowing in both, and there are dark imperfections throughout the glass, though not prevalent or obvious enough to appear intentional. The base does have some shelf wear but it is not uniform around the entire base. To me, this is a tough one. I can't find anything similar online, and I only have one book on historic glass. I'm hopeful one of the experts can help me out with this! Thanks in advance!
