help with laurens glass works, glass lid or paperweight

looks like an ashtray, 4 inches in diameter and 1 1/4 height on the inside , itis embossed crudely, laurens glass works, amber in color, weights 1 lb. anyone know what it is ? any help would be appreciated. thanxs bob

Reminds me of a coaster as well , but I never seen a coaster that had embossing on it . Guess some could exist with embossing .

I'd go with that too, maybe for a piano with the over size and weight. I'd go with the later 1910-86 company (not Z).

Hi all - I know I have a dozen or so different ones up north. There a lot of styles and sources. Not expensive - but interesting as a glass application reality. When I get up there in another month, I will check them over and try to post on this thread when I can tell you about them here. RED M.

thanxs for info, guys , if it is a glass furniture coaster it must the first they ever made it's to crude, and no wear on inside, maybe a dud. check out these pics

Have to admit , never saw a coaster that crude before , they were always quite uniform .
