Found this one today. Was hoping for a local Michigan Med. BUT, this one looks cool with the Moon & Stars. Anybody know anything about it? Is it tough? Rare? or Common? THANKS, LEON.

Very nice, I can't find much, but the "Drug Store" was located in Brooklyn, NY on the Corner of 3rd Ave and 23rd street. HERE, it's near the bridge on Google Maps Street View.

Nice find, Leon, "The Sultan tradition began in 1872, when Edward Sultan founded the original Sultan Pharmacy on 23rd Street in New York City. The pharmacy dispensed prescription and over-the-counter drugs and was popular for its lunch counter. In the 1930’s, the New York University School of Dentistry opened just one block away. Since Sultan filled prescriptions for the school, it wasn’t surprising that graduate dentists continued to send their prescriptions to Sultan for their dental pharmaceuticals. As more and more dentists turned to Sultan in the 1940’s, a small manufacturing area replaced the lunch counter. By 1955 Sultan required more manufacturing and inventory space and moved to New Jersey. Sultan closed the pharmacy and devoted all its efforts to manufacturing products for sale to dentists and dental dealers…" http://www.sultanhc.com/sw/common/custom/internet/custompage.asp?SWAPPID=74&SubPageID=17409&traffictype=Direct

Thanks for the info. I'm guessing this dates to around 1890's-1910 as most in dump from that timeline. Doing a search in here all I could find was some St Louis Sultans which seemed more common & looked totally different then this one. Nothing in search on this one in here. Wonder if that means it's a tough bottle? Anybody else have one or dug one before? LEON.

It is good. Any time you have engraving like that, it's pre-1910. Judging by that tooled finish (or what I can see, I would date it to the 1880s. It's a nice prescription bottle.
