I know there are bottles with blank circles on them. Not exactly sure why. Can you post a pic of your bottle? If it's embossed it could be any where from 1910s-1940s
As the mouth is round and a five-digit number is embossed on it, my research leads me to believe it's pre-1940. The bottle is, I'm almost certain (albeit my research leads to dead-ends often,) for Muskegon, MI and not Hurley, WI (What was the dairy's place to bottle is now a Church.) My picture quality is poor, so I've included the embossing on the bottle itself, JohnDeereMoxie.Front of bottle: Unembossed circle. next line: 'ONE PINT' next line: 'LIQUID' next line, elongated circle with embossing in it: 'TWIN CITY' next line: (You get how this goes now, I'll stop writing 'next line:') 'DAIRY' 'TEL. 51133' '1545 MONTGOMERY AVE.' end of front. Back little circle says 'SEALED' Base is a giant 'T' with a small circle centered in it.
My best guess tells me late '20s or early '30s. In the end, I'm not an expert. This is my first and only milk bottle. Found it when trying to move away from the guy who was following me... Even next to a police station, apparently you still get stalked.
Well my guess is late 20s early 30s. I'm guessing the glass is pretty heavy. I'll show these pics to a few people they might be able to narrow it down.
Do you mean the heel? I got on because I recalled the front heal says 'L.G.Co. 52' for Lamb Glass Company. I had forgotten to mention that. There also is a '1' embossed on the back heel. 52 means... I don't recall, but it's not the year. 1 means...? Don't go out of your way to help me with it, but thanks for the offer.
Yes, the heel, that's the word! I talked to a friend he had no info. If it's Lamb glass it's from the 20s I believe. They weren't around very long. I have bottle from Lamb. Check out Doug and Linda's dairy collectibles page, there's some info on glass companies. Hope this helps!
Superb. Thank you so much. My dairy bottle is from what is basically an unheard of dairy, so my research is dead on it without town historical records. The glass co. is my only hope really. That and the number.
