Bayonet?

looks like a bayonet... found it in a ash dump 2 feet down...

Definitely a bayonet, I agree with Louis. Maybe you can find a few good civil war bottles too.

We dig those bayonets fairly often here in Texas...usually in 1870's or 1880's context.

Finding just bottles... . When we go we will take the detector .We wont be going back for a few weeks We found a great 1850's dump somewhere else.Here's a pic of the ruins where we found the bayonet.
