Went to a new spot today that we got a lead on. We did not get a chance to dig because these bottles and more were on the surface... less than 3 inches down.. Phila & Chester ( plus other towns) squats, blobs, meds, etc.... going back tomorrow to figure out what is going on...more pics next post

Wow man that's a very impressive pile of surface finds! Awesome work, hopefully you've got a 5-foot thick layer of squatties lurking in there! Was this a dump of some sort, or a cellar hole?

FOR REAL?????? I have to dig FOREVER to find just one or two like those! Having trouble believing it! I think we need a senate investigation! I smell a cover-up, or would that be a cover-over? Ha! Hope there IS a ten footer stuffed with goodies, cuz I want to see more pictures! Jack

Three inches? Just WOW. I don't think I've ever seen anything so old intact so close to the surface. Pre-1900 cuts-off right there. Surface kills. The ground usually holds its secrets well.

ya.. can't understand why they are so close to the surface. We are going back tonight to cut the brush back and see what is going on. It is really thick. took me 2 hours just to clear an area 5 x 10... and that is where I found these bottles plus approx. 15 more that are not pictured. It is in a neighborhood that was built in the 1950's.... homes are all very close w a very small back yard 20 x 60 or so.... strange... I did find 2 broken squats...all the rest of the bottles were intact. It looks like at one time kids built an underground fort and maybe they possibly just threw the bottles on the ground above the hole . There is a hole approx. 10 x 10 ( 3 or so feet deep) will all their junk in it. It looks like it was built 20 or so years ago by the looks of the debris and trees growing in it. .. so maybe that is where all the bottles are!

Dang-lucky find. My only explanation would be roots and weathering pushing things to the surface. Same with sidewalks and fossils.

Reminds me of the time I found a 1860's cival war dump with pontiles on the surface. Dug down but nothing deeper then 3 inches & all broken shards. I was bumming. LEON.
