Had this bottle for a few years. I showed it to someone a month ago and they immediately noticed the backwards 'J'. Always wondered the value of this bottle especially now with the backwards letter. Flawless condition otherwise. I l know it's an 1890's quack medicine era bottle. Any information on the value of this particular bottle would be appreciated. Thanks.

probably not much value. its a plain jane med bottle. id say maybe $5-$10. I don't know if its rare or not, but it doesn't stand out as anything super special to me

It would help to know what is on the opposite side panel, ie Dr. so-and-so, or bla bla med. co. as I find no listings for just Indian Cough syrup......that said, I would agree with antlerman with the exception of the word Indian. There are those collectors who hunt only Indian bottles, and for that fact I would guess at least $20 if just common, though I never heard of it before now. Plus the goofed J I would think would boost value a bit more as there are collectors of just reversed letters or misspelling on bottles. I think it has a lot going for it, even if it is a later make. Never mind, I googled it and found it is a common S B Goff product. There is a web site, the New Jersey Bottle Forum that has good info on it but I saw no mention of the backwards J, so could be a rare one......
