Question on 1800's home.

I have the general location of an old home built around 1800. It is no longer standing. Just curious if they would have had a privy that long ago or how would they have disposed of things? Just curious what you experts think. Thanks!

They had to go potty somewhere. As for what you'll find, who knows. They also likely, if not a privy, would have a trash pit--those things go back millennium.

Do your homework, find out where privies are typically located (look through our archives) secure a probe and get going. You're sure to find something of interest. Jim
