Leon, The first Milk bottle was invented by Dr.Harvey D. Thatcher in 1886. It was9-3/4" tall and held one Quart. Some where I have an Italian repro of one, boxed ???? I also have an original Cream top quart Milk that was patented by Thatcher Glass later. I have a couple dozen glass dairy products bottles and jars - that I expect to photo and cover in a home page blog this winter. Cottage cheese, cream cheese, etc. products. My first bottle collected was a half pint milk, embossed from Watkins Glen, N.Y. RED Matthews
