J.R. Burdsall arnica liniment spout?

I picked up this OP Burdsall's Arnica Liniment at flea market yesterday and the mouth has a wedge in it like a pour spout. At first I thought it was a chip but it is uniformly notched and smooth so thinking it may have been[attachment=MVC-044L.JPG] [attachment=MVC-045L.JPG] [attachment=MVC-045L.JPG] made that way. I looked at several variations on line but I could not find one with this wedge in it. Anyone ever heard if there is a variation like this?

I believe that the divot in the lip was simply due to there not being enough glass in that spot (or rather, the glass may have been applied slightly low on that side, accounting for the big "drip" pressed in the neck right underneath). It doesn't look intentional to me, and overall is much more interesting and appealing this way.

Hello Joe, I summer in the Watkins Glen area each year. I worked for Thatcher Glass in Elmira for 15 years in their Central Mold department as an Applications Engineer. I have collected glass since I was nine years old and studied early hand made glass since I retired from working. Fun hobby. Maybe we can get acquanted sone summer. RED Matthews
