found this in my 100 year old dried up lake. I'm thinking its porcelain, however any guess to age and/or style? I tried to show a close up of the crackle pattern that's all over the top and underside. thanks in advance!

Porcelain is translucent and not prone to crazing so I'm thinking ironstone or some other pottery. 1960's maybe.

I would think the lid is much older and probably from around 1920 and depending on size appears to be a lid of a Tureen which were used for cooking stews , soups etc.

Not sure what it is , but what you call crackle glass , I think the correct term is crazing . Not being sarcastic at all , just thought you would want to know . Over time a lot of pottery will craze (develop what looks like cracks in the finish)

thanks to all. I've looked up Ironstone and it definitely is that. I'm also happy with the date of the 20's, as most of the items from this part of the lake seem to be from around that time period....
